The Falmouth Convention

The Falmouth Convention was developed as a collaboration between University College Falmouth, ProjectBase and Tate St Ives, convened by the independent curator Teresa Gleadowe and supported by Arts Council England, South West.

As writer and editor for the Convention I managed the website content and oversaw the production of the conference papers.

I was also commissioned to write a critical response to one of the six field trips – Urbanomic’s Hydroplutonic Kernow – as part of the record of the convention.

Following on from The Falmouth Convention, I was asked to edit and manage the websites for the resulting additional events – The Cornwall Workshop (October 2011 and 2013) and The Penzance Convention (May 2012).

For The Cornwall Workshop, I was lucky enough to be asked to work as an assistant to the renowned Chicago-based art critic Lori Waxman during her “60wrd/min art critic” event at The Exchange, Penzance.

For The Penzance Convention, I again worked closely with the conference convenor Teresa Gleadowe and designer Nick Raven to manage the website content and oversee the production of the conference papers and I was commissioned to write a critical response to one of the seven field trips – FIELDCLUB’s The Story of NPK.
